The Creative Industries Fund and Van Eesteren-Fluck van Lohuizen foundation have awarded Petra Brouwer and Tim Verlaan grants for a three-year research project into Amsterdam's recent past.

The project will result in a series of public events and an annotated monograph, and is centred around the legacy of alderman Michael van der Vlis and his allies, who during the last quarter of the twentieth century introduced policies to create a more affordable and sustainable living environment.
