"Information literacy empowers us to think critically and make informed choices in a complex world".
As an academic information specialist on information literacy at the University Library, I support students in effectively searching for, finding, and evaluating academic information.
If you have questions about locating scholarly publications or reliable sources, or if you would like to schedule a workshop or training session for students on using literature, primary sources, search strategies, or referencing, I am happy to assist.
I received my MA in Economic and Social History from VU University in 2008. My thesis focused on the impact of modern economic growth on the prostitution market in Haarlem between 1850 and 1900 (see also Publications).
In addition to my position as a librarian, I hold an external PhD candidacy at Utrecht University. My research analyzes the development of entrepreneurial activity within the Dutch prostitution sector between 1850 and 1911. My supervisor is Prof. dr. Elise van Nederveen Meerkerk, and my co-supervisor is Dr. Clé Lesger (UvA).
