PhD Workshop Urban History

The Amsterdam Centre of Urban History will host an international PhD workshop that brings together PhD candidates from ACUH and the Centre of Urban History, University of Antwerp (CSG). Ilja van Damme (CSG), will provide a keynote lecture.

The workshop will have a diachronic approach, from antiquity to modern times and offers an opportunity for PhD’s in various stages of their research to present papers and discuss their work in detail. All participating PhD researches have an urban focus in their work and engage with debates on the key themes within the field of urban history, including questions on urban culture, co-existence, identity, environment, economy and institutions.
